Join Grand Master Kim, Soon-Chul on the shores of Lake Michigan in Chicago and heart of Silicon Valley, Santa Clara as he works to bring forth a renaissance in Tae Kwon Do.

Come, learn the mysteries of Korean martial arts.

Master Kim is an Internationally Certified Instructor with over 40 years of experience. Before establishing USA Tae Kwon Do, Master Kim instructed Tae Kwon Do in Korea, Austria, Spain, France, Germany, and Denmark. Additionally, he has given 300 demonstrations in 15 countries. It is this experience that has allowed him to create 10 new "basic" forms and 50 sparring forms. These forms are referred to as In Young Ryu.

Tang Soo Do, International Tae Kwon Do Federation (ITF) and World Tae Kwon Do Federation (WTF) forms, in all their elegance and grace, have not adapted well as a Martial Art. Instructors methods have been bound by the ITF, WTF and Tang Soo Do for some time. Master Kim has worked to overcome the confines formed by traditional Tae Kwon Do to establish this set of sparring techniques. Many schools teaching traditional Tae Kwon Do teach only ITF and WTF forms and leave it to the student to apply what they learn from the forms to self defense. Master Kim has stepped out of the traditional way of thinking and has designed his sparring techniques so that they are of immediate benefit to all who study them. These forms are all based in a simple "I" pattern and are easily learned by Tae Kwon Doists of all levels.

The many benefits of In Young Ryu include:

  • Increased knowledge of Tae Kwon Do as a Martial Art as opposed to a Sport.
  • Improved Free Sparring technique and understanding of One-Step and Three-Step Sparring.
  • Increased understanding of the application of Tae Kwon Do in Self Defense.
  • A large space is not necesary so forms can be learned and practiced anywhere.
  • Increased Coordination and Discipline.
  • Improved breaking techniques.
  • Learnable by students age 5 and up.
  • Allows Masters, Instructors and Black Belts to to bring new techniques and philosophy back to their Schools.
In Young Ryu As a Tae Kwon Doist you are a member of the Tae Kwon Do family, you must be willing to stand up for what is right and be responsible for your own actions.
