Zilu inquired about consummate persons. The Master replied, “Persons who are as wise as Zang Wu-zhong, as free from desires as Meng Gongchuo, as bold as Bian Zhuangzi, and a cultivated as Ranyou, and who in addition, have become refined through observing ritual propriety and playing music – such persons can be said to be consummate. But, “ he continued, “need consummate persons of today be all of this? If on seeing a chance to profit they think of appropriate conduct, on seeing danger they are ready to give their lives, and when long in desperate straits, they still do not forget the words they live by – such persons can also said to be consummate.” - Master Kim |

USA Tang-Soo-Do Moo-Duk-Kwan
In Young Ryu is a new set of sparring forms created by Master Kim, Soon-Chul. These forms emphasize and teach discipline and self-defense. They can be taught to all belt levels.
As a Tae Kwon Doist, you are a member of the Tae Kwon Do family – you must be willing to stand up for what is right and be responsible for your own actions.
You should never lie, hold a grudge, act maliciously, or lose self-control as a Tae Kwon Doist.
Finally, you must understand that the ultimate goal of Tae Kwon Do training is deeper than just technique, or rank. It is the development of a humble and noble spirit. There is no end to this kind of learning. So, work hard in the spirit of a true martial artist, approaching excellence each day. Never take your life for granted and never stop improving.
